Computex 2008: Eat this, EeePC! The Acer Aspire One 8.9″ Ultra-Portable

Local warlord Acer finally enters this fierce ultra-portable battlefield and releases their Aspire One 8.9″ model.

The Aspire One will feature:
1. CPU: Intel Atom
2. OS: Customized version of certain Linux distribution (with web browser, email client and instant messaging features) and Windows XP Home Edition
3. RAM: 512MB, maximum 1G
4. Screen: 8.9″, 1024×600 resolution
5. Storage: 8GB SSD or 80G 2.5″ HDD, with capability of combining storage capacity of SD card and SSD via card reader (similar to JBOD)
6. Battery: 3 Cell (2200 mAh) standard, with optional 6 cell version.
7. Weight: Less than 1kg
8. Built-in 802.11 b/g wireless NIC, with optional 3.5G or WiMAX module available.
9. Colour: available in Blue, White, Coffee Gold and Pink

No official words yet on pricing and release date, rumor to be sometime around September with a USD399 tag.
