Designers will include such companies as Evan Golf, Grace and Game, and Toby Tucker Golf. AGORA will also feature golf accessories vendors such as Cart Chic, Equipt for Play, and Golf4Her.com. “It’s very hard to get access to women’s golf clothing that fits your style,” says Elizabeth Noblitt, founder of Shi Shi Putter™. “I knew that I wasn’t alone in that dilemma; so I decided to create a fun, inspiring golf shopping experience for both consumers and vendors.” Read more

Bottega Veneta Men’s Spring-Summer 2012

June 20, 2011 by · Comments Off

(PRWEB) June 19, 2011

For Spring Summer 2012, Bottega Veneta presents a men’s collection that contrasts surface and silhouette. Surface is treated extravagantly, enhanced and amplified with prints layered over prints, geometric patterns fused together, and materials mixed, patched, or cut apart and reformed. There are overprinted seersuckers and shirt checks, stripes atop stripes, linen- cotton twill printed to look like Irish tweed, elaborately patterned knits, and bleached, printed Japanese denim. In the end, the particulars of pattern and print become imprecise, rendering the surface of each garment graphically rich and wholly unfamiliar.

Juxtaposed to this opulent take on surface is a silhouette that is narrow, neat, and close to the body. The clothes, mostly suits, are precise and streamlined, with tapered pants, narrow shoulders, fitted sleeves, and a band or mandarin collar. Top and bottom are monochromatic. Jackets and the occasional shirt are worn buttoned all the way up to the neck, leaving little skin exposed. The effect is of a suit distilled to a single piece. Read more

Project Runway alumnus Nick Verreos, who is a graduate of and current instructor at the fashion school FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, was recently asked for his take on Kate Middleton’s royal wedding gown. Verreos’s interpretation came in the form of an ivory sillk ziberline column gown with a pleated neck, cap sleeves, side-front pockets, and a full pleated back train.

Today Show anchor Natalie Morales and fashion editor Bobbie Thomas hosted the segment, which showcased Verreos’s sketches and final wedding gown – which was created in just one week. The modern dress featured a waist detail with hand-sewn Swarovski crystal beading for a bit of sparkle. “I was inspired by architecture and wanted to design a gown that was structured yet elegant,” said Verreos, who teaches fashion design at FIDM. “I also considered Kate Middleton’s penchant for showing her great figure.” Read more
